Research Assistant ("HiWi") (m/f/d) Molecular Imaging

The focus of our research is on fine morphology of the glial cells and neurons in brain tissue of mice and turtles using super resolution STED microscopy.

We are currently seeking a research assistant to join our team in order to help us with various tasks. You will be collaborating mainly in research projects centered on state-of-the-art microscopy, so-called "STED microscopy" (Nobel Prize 2014), animal facility maintenance, and data analysis. This will include e.g.  staining and imaging of brain slices, assistance during patch clamp recordings and tissue preparation, PCRs.

This position is offering a valuable learning experience, providing the opportunity to get training in a dynamic and innovative research setting, gain hands-on experience in on-going laboratory research projects, and develop new skills.

The work place is the CIPMM (Building 48), Campus Homburg.

Working hours: About 6 hours/week.

Requirements:

A background in biology, medicine or related fields, strong interest in science and research, effective communication skills in English, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. We welcome especially candidates who are able to have a flexible schedule during the week, according to varying experimental needs.
