At the start of each new semester, many new students from Germany and all over the world will come to Saarbr\u00fccken. For students who cannot find a room in the dormitories of the Studierendenwerk Saarland, there are other options for finding accommodation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. private halls of residence that are not managed by Studierendenwerk Saarland:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are various halls of residence in Saarbr\u00fccken that are not run by the Studierendenwerk. These halls of residence mostly offer furnished single apartments, double apartments and rooms. You must apply directly to the providers: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wide variety of accommodation can also be found on the private market at the beginning of each semester. In addition to individual apartments and large apartments, there are also so-called “shared apartments”. These are shared flats in which each student rents a single room and shares the kitchen and bathroom with other students. The offers can be furnished or unfurnished. These offers can be found on the Internet, in the regional newspapers and on the notice boards at the universities and in the canteens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the period from 01.08.2025 to 15.11.2025, the Housing Office will be available to help international students of Saarland University and htw saar find accommodation in and around Saarbr\u00fccken. The “General Terms and Conditions of Tenancy”, the “HORUS Regulations” and the “House Rules of the Halls of Residence” are part of the tenancy agreement and are handed over when the tenancy agreement is concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility<\/strong>
Students of Saarland University, Saarland University of Applied Sciences, Saarland University of Fine Arts and Saarland University of Music are eligible to live in the dormitories of the Studierendenwerk des Saarlandes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In particular, students are not entitled to housing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
