To strengthen our team in the Institute for Information Systems in Saarbrücken, we are looking for a
Research Assistant (10 hrs/week)
Project ErgoFee – AI-driven Ergonomics Recommendations in Nursing Care
ErgoFee develops AI-based systems for promoting ergonomic work practices in nursing care. Using the sensor-based FlexTail technology by Minktec, the project captures body postures and movement patterns, enabling process-based activity recognition. From this data, personalized recommendations are generated to help nursing staff perform physically demanding tasks in a more ergonomic manner, reducing musculoskeletal strain and occupational health risks in the long term.
Your tasks:
- Support in processing and analyzing sensor data from the FlexTail system
- Implementation and evaluation of algorithms for process-based activity recognition
- Research on machine learning methods for motion and activity recognition
- Development and testing of ergonomics recommendation modules and user study support
Your qualifications:
- Enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, Cognitive Science, or a related degree
- Solid programming skills in Python; experience with NumPy, Pandas, or scikit-learn is a plus
- Interest in machine learning, sensor data, human-computer interaction, or digital health
