The Psychological-Psychotherapeutic Counseling Center (PPB) is open to all employees of Saarland University and Saarland University of Applied Sciences for free and confidential consultation. Employees of the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar and the Hochschule für Musik Saar should contact the Psychosocial Counseling Center (PSB).

We advise on professional and/or personal problems, e.g.

• Concentration disorders
• Dissatisfaction with the personal and/or professional situation
• Problems in the workplace
• Low or strongly fluctuating self-esteem
• depressive moods
• Lack of orientation or motivation
• Avoiding or postponing important projects
• Relationship difficulties
• Fears
• sexual and psychosomatic disorders
• Partnership and family conflicts etc.

Counseling mainly takes place in the form of individual meetings. However, mediation or group sessions are also possible.

All initial appointments are arranged via the Saarbrücken campus office, regardless of where they take place.

In addition to the initial consultations, we offer open consultation hours once a week at each location. During this time, it is possible to have a short consultation (approx. 15 – 20 minutes) without making an appointment in advance.
The open consultation is intended for people seeking advice who are not yet clients of the PPB and offers an alternative if the waiting time for an initial consultation seems too long.

Open consultation hours are offered on these days:

• UdS, Saarbrücken campus: Wednesdays, 12 – 1 p.m.
• UdS, Homburg Campus: Tuesdays, 12 – 1 p.m. (not available during the semester break)
• htw saar, Campus Alt-Saarbrücken: Thursdays, 12 – 1 p.m. (not available during the semester break)

Personal registration is required at the UdS Campus in Saarbücken by 12:30 pm.

Please note that the number of people who can be advised during open consultation hours is limited.
