The Psychological Counselling Service (PPB) is open to all students of Saarland University, the University of Applied Sciences Saarland, the Academy of Fine Arts Saar, and the Academy of Music Saar for free and confidential use.

We provide counselling for academic and/or personal problems, for example:

• Exam and test anxiety
• Learning and concentration difficulties
• Writing blocks, fear of public speaking
• Dissatisfaction with one’s personal life and/or academic situation
• Low or highly fluctuating self-esteem
• Depressive moods
• Lack of direction or motivation
• Avoidance or procrastination of important tasks
• Relationship difficulties
• Anxiety
• Sexual and psychosomatic disorders
• Relationship and family conflicts, etc

An Open Counselling Hour is held once a week at each location.

The counselling can take place in German or English.

Unfortunately, group programs are offered only in German. If you are interested in one of the groups, please contact us.

In addition to initial appointments, we offer a weekly Open Counselling Hour at each of our locations. During these times, you have the opportunity to receive a brief counselling (approx. 15–20 minutes) without a prior appointment.
The Open Cpunselling Hour is intended for individuals seeking advice who are not yet clients of the PPB, offering an alternative option when the waiting time for an initial appointment seems too long.

The Open Counselling Hour takes place on the following days:

• UdS, Campus Saarbrücken: Wednesday, 12 – 1 p.m.
• UdS, Campus Homburg: Tuesday, 12 – 1 p.m. (only during the lecture period)
• htw saar, Campus Alt-Saarbrücken: Thursday, 12 – 1 p.m. (only during the lecture period)

At the university campus in Saarbrücken, on-site registration is required by 12:30 p.m.

Please note that the number of people who can be advised during the Open Counselling Hour is limited.
